- Why it says it matters: STELLARIX says the investment will also make infrastructure more resilient and support digital sovereignty as Senegal’s digital economy grows.
- Who built it: The expansion was carried out with contributions from Snef, SERTEM Groupe and Kent Data Centres.
- Who owns it: STELLARIX is part of the AXIAN Group, alongside AXIAN Telecom.
KINI BIG DEAL
Data centres are not the exciting part of AI, but nothing runs without them. Every AI tool, chatbot or cloud service has to live on a machine somewhere. When that machine is in Africa, data can stay closer to home, and local businesses and governments get an option other than sending everything abroad.
